See what our patients are saying about O’Connor Hospital.
A letter form a retired US Navy member:
Ahoy O’Connor! Stand by to come along side!
RE: Reporting appreciation for another Port O’Connor visit- [Three unplanned this year: two one-day with a third on requiring import berthing and utility connections]
[1] “It’s the Way We Care” was experienced in each instance. Though I arrived ER under my own power, before I got to the door alert personnel made sure of my health and safety by providing a wheelchair. Propelling me to the “welcoming committee” (sign-in, documentation, registration/assignment), I was surprised by the waiting time in the “outer harbor” (waiting room). Before I could prepare for an extended delay, it was off to the ER pier. Upon onboard examination, the attending “superintendent” (physician) directed that I accept an overnight “visit”. My diagnosis called for “yard time” for repair” six days!
This is to attest to the validity of your mantra: “It’s the Way We Care”. A WOW card could be submitted of the personnel at each berth I was on. (I was pleasantly surprised by, and commend your for, both the student and nursing training programs at O’Connor. I did my best to provide plenty of training experience and sea stories on caring and repairing, especially older ships!)
[2] Respectfully enclosed a token of appreciation – a like amount is to be submitted later this year.
End of report, with prayers for you and continued services at “Port O’Connor”.
