With the support of our generous donors, O’Connor Hospital Foundation is able to directly impact the health and well-being of the community by supporting a variety of services and projects at O’Connor Hospital In 2011, donations benefited the following:
Several of our Family Center departments received new equipment which will enhance the care O’Connor Hospital is able to provide to mothers, babies and children. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit was able to purchase a new brain wave monitor and infant resuscitators which will increase the quality of care critically ill newborns receive. Pediatrics installed a new centralized heart monitoring system that will improve patient safety and care. The Pediatric Treatment Room was remolded and updated to create a more child friendly environment. Also, new infant warmers were purchased by the Mother/Baby Unit.
Donations supported the Family Health Center, our primary care residency clinic, and allowed the residents and physicians to implement a Chronic Illness Management Program. The program teaches family medicine residents how to care for and educate chronically ill patients.
A new full-field digital mammography machine was installed in Imaging Services. The project was several years in the making and now allows patients to receive high quality digital mammograms.
Donation also helped the Intensive Care Unit buy much needed medical equipment that will increase patient safety and care.
